Colour, colour, colour.  From a purely practical perspectice white is all right, because it is the coolest, in the literal sense of the word - white reflects heat.  White also doesn't show scratches as easily as darker colours, it goes with pretty much every accessory colour and resale won't be affected.  White also doesn't show the

Every kid needs to read, read and read some more.  But it's always the same stuff...talking animals or cartoon-caricatures of people.  Sure, it's nice that our children can grow up being able to tell the difference between a lion and a tiger, but really, it's not that important a skill outside of Africa so once you've read a few animal books, let's m

You don’t spend very long reviewing cars before you come up against some design decisions that seem odd, if not downright stupid. Why, why, why did they do that when it’s just so wrong and there’s such an obviously better way?

So far Oziexplorer has been ported to Android, and it works very well there.  However, there's many Apple devotees who are also offroaders, so what options do they have for an in-car moving map? Quite a few, and here's some of them:

Mud Map

Huge range of maps, ability to upload data into the cloud, lots of features.  You can see which maps are available for which area here -> http://www.mud-maps.com/maps

How would you like your maps to move? There’s so many ways to run a moving-map these days the sheer choice can be a problem. I do however have a new favourite, Samsung’s Galaxy Note N7000 which is a phablet or a tabone – lovely new words meaning phone-tablet or tablet-phone. Here’s a few moving-map options:

Not your usual choice of vehicles, but this is a follow-on question to this dilemma:

Should I buy a Range Rover Sport or Defender?

The question is now:

The Cheviot Tunnel near Yea has long been a popular tourist attraction.  You wouldn't think that a mere hole through the ground is all that exciting, but there's a decent bit of history and story to the tunnel, part of which is explained on an information sign.   But that doesn't really interest the kids who just love the whole concept of the

New car press releases aren't so much press releases as cliche-ridden sentences joined together like pieces of confetti.  A lot of them are, to be frank, utter garbage.  They mostlly follow the same basic concept, which is to use hyperbole and superlatives in a futile attempt to create an image of a car that is at once:

- modern yet classic

- sporty yet economical

- compact yet capacious

- innovative yet original

For a while now I've been using Android devices as offroad navigation system.  The 10.1" tablets are a really great travelling computer - web browsing, apps, email, media and of course navigation with Google Maps when you have 3G coverage, and Oziexplorer or Androzic when you don't.
